It has been almost a year since my niece was involved in a horrible car accident. She had some surgery to correct a Pilon fracture on her ankle but because of lack of cartilage in the talus and a nerve entrapment on the Sural nerve she could not walk. Faced with fusion, or cadaver transplant of the cartilage, she was willing to try stem cells. One injection was sufficient to release the entrapment nerve in the Sural nerve and two injections of 50 mg each were needed for cartilage regeneration.

She is in practice in the hospital now and is required to walk and work some 10-12 hours a day. She is able to do that now.  She also goes to the gym whenever she has a chance. Is she perfect?  No. On the last MRI there is a 7 mm  defect in the articular cartilage. Far cry from not being able to walk... Overall she is about 85 to 90 % better.  However, at 23 year old she has all the life ahead of her, without limitations....
