Stem Cells are produced by the human body (and all other organisms) during development, early in life and growth.

"In many tissues they serve as sort of internal repair systems, dividing especially without  limit to replenish other cells as long as the person or animals are alive

When a stem cell divides each new cell has the potential either to remain a stem cell or become another type of cell with a more specialized function, such as muscle cell, a red blood cell, or a brain cell", or other type of cell, function of where the stem cells are placed.

Treatment with stem cells are induced to differentiate into specific cell types required to repair damage or destroy cells or tissue.

Given their unique regenerative ability, stem cells offer new potential for treating diseases such as heart disease or diabetes" NIH Stem Cell.

One of those areas that has much hope is cartilage damage and arthritis, joint pain.

In our clinic, we were able to prevent ankle fusion after horrible accidents,  restore the cartilage in ankles and knees and brings the patient a much more rehabilitated state.

By doing stem cell treatment, surgery  could be postponed for years or eliminated.
Every period of time is marked by significant advances. Last century, the discoveries of bacteria, antibiotics, was extreme  magnitude

of science leap.

In this century, I as a medical professional think that stem cell  regeneration ability will be the new leap, at least in the 1st fifty years.

My hope is that this century, aging will be seen as a disease and ways to prevent aging will be  employed, most likely with the use of stem Cells.
